Major cultural and sporting events in London
If you are looking to stage a major sporting or cultural event in London, Events for London should be your first port of call.
Events for London
A partnership between Visit London, the Mayor of London and the London Development Agency, our mission is simple: to create a diverse, inspirational and dynamic major events programme that complements London as the world's leading city.
By offering advice and support at every stage of the process – from your bid, to the event, to evaluation – our experienced team help public and private organisations from around the globe secure London as the venue for their event.
- Securing political support at every level from national government through to the Mayor of London and individual London boroughs
- Providing introductions to potential sponsors and partners
- Developing the business case to secure funding
- Offering advice on logistics, from organising venues and travel, to security and road closures
- Working with you to asses and evaluate the results post-event
So if you are considering staging a major event in the city - that is, an event that will bring economic, cultural and "brand" benefits - we would be delighted to help "unlock" London for you.
The other part of our role is to create and deliver London's bids for international calendar events like the FIFA World Cup and the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Indeed, not only are we honoured to be staging the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, but the Events for London team was also at the heart of London's bid to play a central role in England’s campaign to host the World Cup in 2018 or 2022.
